Finance Manager

About the role

ReAgent Chemical Services is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Finance Director and lead the finance function as the business continues to grow. This permanent, full‑time role is based on‑site in Runcorn and involves hands‑on management of daily finance activities, accurate reporting and commercial support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the finance team.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, including reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Prepare management accounts, forecasts, cash‑flow reports and financial analysis.
• Oversee debtors, creditors, credit control and payment processes.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve stock management, margins and profitability.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, HMRC, audit and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support year‑end activities, external audits and deputise for the Finance Director when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or similar role within an SME manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using financial accounting software, preferably Sage.
