Financial Controller – Group (Consumer Products)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, PE‑backed consumer products group that operates across multiple sites. The Group Financial Controller will own financial control, reporting and finance integration as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial control across the parent company and individual trading entities.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, reporting templates and internal processes.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and controls within Xero.
• Deliver monthly management accounts and year‑end statutory accounts.
• Prepare VAT returns and support wider compliance requirements.
• Support payroll processes alongside HR.
• Assist acquisition activity and post‑acquisition finance integration.
• Build budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Monitor cash flow and improve forecasting processes.
• Prepare board and investor reporting packs.
• Provide structure, control and commercial insight to a scaling finance function.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting experience.
• Background in controllership, preferably with Big 4 or leading accountancy firm audit experience.
• At least 3 years post‑qualified experience in industry.
• Proven ownership of month‑end, statutory accounts, VAT and audit coordination.
• Strong technical accounting and consolidation skills.
• Experience working across multi‑site or multi‑entity businesses.
• Confidence using Xero, Excel and management reporting tools.
• Hands‑on approach with willingness to prepare accounts, reconcile balances and improve processes directly.

• Base salary £80,000‑£90,000 per year.
