Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will join the UK finance function of a leading global advertising, media and PR group. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end financial reporting, consolidation and control of multiple UK entities in a fast‑moving, multi‑entity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for several UK corporate entities.
• Lead the group consolidation and reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Review and sign‑off management accounts, reporting packs, balance‑sheet reconciliations and high‑volume journal entries.
• Provide technical accounting guidance across the finance function and act as the primary contact for agency finance teams.
• Manage forecasting, annual budgeting cycles and working‑capital reporting, including cash‑flow forecasts and intercompany reconciliations.
• Supervise the offshore finance team, reviewing outputs and driving improvements in reporting quality and controls.
• Deliver UK statutory accounts and reconcile US GAAP with UK GAAP.
• Coordinate the external audit process and oversee tax reporting (VAT, PSA and internal tax submissions).
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives to strengthen reporting efficiency and embed best practice.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant.
• Experience in a mid‑sized accountancy practice covering audit and accounts preparation.
• Strong technical finance background with exposure to multi‑entity group reporting.
• Proven ability to manage statutory accounts, audits and tax reporting.
• Excellent judgment in financial control and reporting standards.
