Financial Controller

About the role

This is a hands‑on Financial Controller position within a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed consulting firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the finance function as the business expands internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes and prepare management accounts with CFO‑level commentary.
• Consolidate multi‑entity financial results across UK and US subsidiaries and ensure tax compliance (VAT, payroll, US state and income taxes).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, R&D tax credit submissions and produce lender/investor reporting packs in line with PE governance.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, manage company secretarial requirements and oversee multi‑currency accounts (GBP, USD, EUR) and FX risk.
• Maintain rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecasts, optimise cash returns and preserve liquidity buffers.
• Partner with budget holders, cross‑functional teams and the board to drive process improvements and support investor presentations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant, preferably with an audit background.
• Solid experience in management accounting, multi‑jurisdictional consolidation and financial controls.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and familiarity with US reporting requirements.
• Experience in a SaaS, subscription or recurring‑revenue business is a strong advantage.
• Prior exposure to a PE‑backed environment and investor/lender reporting is a plus.
