Financial Controller

About the role

The client is a leading real estate firm based in London City Centre, seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial reporting and control functions across multiple UK entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, consolidations and equity accounting in line with IFRS.
• Own the annual statutory accounts process and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
• Deliver project reporting and analyse financial performance.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and Group reporting.
• Manage finance activities within an Oracle ERP system covering AP, AR and General Ledger.
• Oversee treasury functions, including debt and equity drawdowns and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Support senior leadership with board reporting, financial modelling and process improvements.
• Take full ownership of the accounts payable function, from approvals to payment runs.
• Provide line‑management for junior finance staff.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS; exposure to US GAAP is a plus.
• Background in real estate, property or infrastructure preferred.
• Experience managing or mentoring a finance team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
• In‑depth understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
• Familiarity with US GAAP principles.
