Frontend Engineer – UI components & Grant Forms

About the role

The Frontend Engineer will own the user‑facing layer of a grant‑application platform, delivering UI components, complex multi‑step forms, and ensuring strict accessibility compliance. You will work in a TypeScript/React environment using Remix or Next.js and report to the Senior Full Stack Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable UI components using Tailwind CSS and Catalyst.
• Build and manage complex, conditional, multi‑step grant application forms with robust validation and state persistence.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA standards across the platform and perform accessibility testing.
• Leverage server‑side rendering patterns in Remix or Next.js for optimal performance and SEO.
• Collaborate with backend and design teams to align on public‑sector design conventions (GDS/Welcome to GOV.UK).

Required profile

• Mid‑level frontend professional with solid TypeScript expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Remix or Next.js beyond basic React, including data loading and routing.
• Proven experience building multi‑step forms with heavy conditional logic.
• Hands‑on experience delivering products that meet WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
