General Aftersales Manager

About the role

Van Mossel Automotive Group is looking for a General Aftersales Manager to join its Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle team in Poole. The post manages all aspects of a busy aftersales department, overseeing the workshop, parts and customer service operations so that departmental objectives are met and customers receive prompt, efficient and high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Review pricing policies, labour rates, discounts and parts pricing regularly
• Monitor workshop productivity and ensure effective use of labour
• Examine management accounts and composite figures to support departmental performance
• Ensure stocks and services bought for resale are sold at a profit, and maintain stock levels and parts inventory
• Resolve customer complaints sensitively and involve others when needed
• Keep the department adequately staffed and ensure staff stay up to date technically
• Ensure health and safety legislation, internal procedures and environmental regulations are followed

Required profile

• Main dealer experience or a comparable motor trade aftersales management role
• Exceptional leadership skills and ability to manage, motivate and develop a high-performing team
• Customer-focused, self-motivated and commercially aware
• Able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards

Working hours are 45 hours, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. Some benefits are subject to eligibility criteria and successful completion of the probation period.
