General Practitioner (Out of Hours, Primary Care, Alder Hey)

About the role

Primary Care 24 (PC24), a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering NHS contracts since 2004, is recruiting GPs for its Out of Hours, Primary Care, Alder Hey and Intermediate Care Beds departments. It offers salaried and bank positions, with full-time, part-time and bank shifts depending on the department, across Merseyside, Sefton and Halton, including the Wavertree head office.

Key responsibilities

• Out of hours: onsite and home visits, triage by phone, diagnosis and care planning, medicine management and urgent test management, and urgent care centre appointments
• Primary care: onsite in GP practices, medicine management, social prescribing, keeping high-quality clinical records and supporting colleagues
• Alder Hey: paediatric primary care streaming for children and young people, supported by APNP colleagues in the Urgent Care Centre
• Intermediate Care Beds: ward rounds, clinical reviews, management plans and prescribing within a multidisciplinary team
• Royal Liverpool Hospital primary care streaming: urgent care for undiagnosed conditions, prescribing and independent clinical decisions

Required profile

• Full GMC registration and licence to practice
• Up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate (the employer will apply for one if you are not on the DBS Update Service)
• Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
• Ability to take independent clinical decisions and to manage your own workload in line with SLAs
• Good written and spoken English and competent use of IT and clinical systems including EMIS

What we offer

• Salaried: £108,664 to £130,398 per annum (pro rata); permanent salaried set shifts; 29 days annual leave pro rata
