Governance Professional (South Wiltshire Hub)

About the role

The Governance Professional will support the Local Governance Committees of several Church of England and community primary schools within the South Wiltshire Hub. Working part‑time on a term‑time basis, the role can be performed remotely, on‑site, or in a hybrid fashion.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and clerk meetings of Local Governance Committees.
• Prepare accurate minutes and related documentation.
• Manage administrative tasks linked to statutory governance duties.
• Attend six early‑evening meetings per year for each committee and monitor email correspondence.
• Collaborate with headteachers, school leadership teams, the Salisbury Diocese, and Trust leaders.

Required profile

• Highly organised and motivated individual.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple committees.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with school and diocesan stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to remote, hybrid, or on‑site working arrangements.

Required skills

• Minute‑taking and meeting‑clerkship.
• Administrative and document‑management proficiency.
• Familiarity with statutory governance requirements for schools.
