Graduate Applications Engineer (Electron Microscopy)

About the role

We are looking for a recent Master’s or PhD graduate with hands‑on experience in electron microscopy to join a fast‑growing scientific‑software start‑up. You will act as the technical bridge between world‑leading researchers and our R&D team, helping to deploy, support and improve cutting‑edge microscopy software worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot electron‑microscopy software integrations for global customers.
• Deliver live and remote product demos, workshops and technical training sessions.
• Collect and communicate user feedback to shape the product roadmap.
• Support pre‑sales activities and represent the company at conferences and trade shows.
• Travel occasionally (typically 1‑2 days per month) and attend a monthly on‑site meeting in Liverpool.

Required profile

• Recent Master’s or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Biology or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with TEM, STEM, SEM and/or FIB‑SEM (research projects acceptable).
• Comfortable in customer‑facing roles, with strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Based in the North West of England (preferred).
• Desirable: prior experience providing user support, training or demos.
