Graduate Apprentice Developer (AI & Data Science)

About the role

This 48‑month Graduate Apprentice Developer position offers a fully funded degree while you work 36 hours per week within NHS Ayrshire and Arran. You will be trained in AI, data science, statistical analysis and modern development tools to create digital solutions for senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust, intuitive digital products that support NHS services.
• Create and manage datasets, applying advanced statistical techniques.
• Use modern developer software and geographical information packages.
• Ensure compliance with NHS data standards and information management policies.

Required profile

• Recent school leaver with SQA Highers (including Maths or Computing) and Nat 5 English.
• Foundation apprenticeship holders or candidates with prior work experience/HNC/HND (recognised via RPL).
• Genuine curiosity about AI, data and how systems work.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to non‑technical colleagues.
• Motivated, can‑do attitude.
