Graduate Town Planner – Colchester

About the role

Our client, a growing multi‑disciplinary consultancy in Colchester, is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Town Planner to join their team. Working on a variety of housing, mixed‑use, commercial and rural projects, you will support senior planners in delivering high‑quality planning services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior staff in preparing planning applications, appeals and design & access statements.
• Conduct research and gather data to support planning proposals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable design solutions.
• Help maintain project documentation and liaise with clients and authorities.

Required profile

• Relevant BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in a RTPI‑accredited planning degree.
• Strong enthusiasm for town planning and willingness to learn.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience in a planning environment (consultancy or local authority) is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Understanding of UK planning regulations and processes.
