Grinder Operator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The role involves operating cylindrical and surface grinders to produce precision parts for our flow control products, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cylindrical grinders and small surface grinder.
• Run various manual machines such as drill, mill, broach and lathe as needed.
• De‑burr and wash out parts throughout the production process.
• Review and update setups, procedures and SOPs.
• Perform quality inspections of parts against drawings and requirements.
• Maintain equipment efficiency records and carry out daily maintenance and preventative tasks.
• Execute safety, housekeeping and EHS activities, including risk assessments.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and provide training to peers and apprentices.
• Support the company’s quality system and work in other areas when required.

Required profile

• Qualified in material removal, particularly cylindrical grinding.
• Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent experience in manufacturing, NC/HMC level.
• Good understanding of manufacturing drawings and processes.
• Strong numeracy and mathematical ability.
• Ability to operate manual machinery and jib cranes.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
