Junior Buyer – Electronics

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Buyer with a manufacturing or electronics background to join a global semiconductor specialist in Glasgow. You will support production continuity by sourcing, negotiating and purchasing electronic components and related materials.

Key responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and purchase electronic components, PCB assemblies, mechanical parts, tooling and subcontract services.
• Work closely with the Senior Buyer, receiving specialist training and shadowing to develop procurement expertise.
• Maintain supply continuity for production, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
• Utilise flexible 7.5‑hour shifts and overtime opportunities as required.

Required profile

• Experience as a buyer or procurement professional within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Willingness to commute to the Glasgow office.
• Motivation to develop skills in semiconductor and electronics purchasing.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electronic components.
• Familiarity with PCB assemblies.
• Understanding of mechanical parts and tooling.

• Salary £27,000‑£37,000 per year.
