Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing, international business. Based in Richmond, London, you will be responsible for building robust financial controls, delivering accurate reporting and providing strategic insight to support the company’s rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance team, organising workloads and supporting staff development.
• Prepare and own monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets and key reconciliations.
• Review and approve VAT returns and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasts to senior management.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, including rolling 12‑week cash‑flow forecasting.
• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the annual audit process.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to senior leadership for strategic decision‑making.
• Continuously improve financial reporting processes and operational efficiencies.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial or high‑growth environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• High commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Resilient, proactive and solution‑focused mindset.
