Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a technically brilliant Group Financial Controller to support the next stage of growth for a fast‑growing international broadcasting business operating in the UK and US. The role reports to the Group Finance Director and leads a team of nine across reporting, controls and financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Group month‑end and year‑end close process.
• Lead consolidations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts.
• Manage the year‑end audit and work closely with external advisors.
• Strengthen financial controls and improve the overall control environment.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting and processes.
• Support cash‑flow management and wider treasury activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of nine finance professionals.
• Partner with business stakeholders to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information.

Required profile

• Passion for accounting and strong attention to detail.
• Proven experience in a senior financial control role such as Group Financial Controller, Head of Financial Control, Group Reporting Manager or similar.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic approach with the ability to roll up sleeves and get things done.
• Excellent leadership and people‑development skills.
• Confidence to challenge, influence and build strong relationships across the business.

Required skills

• ACA qualification or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting expertise.
• Experience with consolidations, statutory reporting and audit management.
• Comfort operating in a multi‑entity international environment.
• Strong financial systems knowledge and a passion for process improvement.
• Cash‑flow management and treasury experience.
