Handyperson – Maintenance Operative

About the role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced handyperson to join a busy construction project in Macclesfield. The role offers reliable, consistent work on a well‑established site for a skilled operative.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and upkeep around the site.
• Perform basic joinery, patching, snagging and finishing tasks.
• Adjust doors, install ironmongery and fit fixtures.
• Make good work following trades and repair minor fixtures and fittings.
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
• Assist site management with a variety of practical tasks.
• Identify and resolve minor defects promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Maintenance person, Multi‑Skilled Operative or similar role.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Own hand tools and personal protective equipment.
