Head Baker

About the role

We are seeking a Head Baker to lead our bakery team at Gail’s Chiswick location. You will oversee the production of breads, cakes and pastries, ensuring they meet our high quality and food‑safety standards while inspiring and developing your crew.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute daily baking schedules, starting early mornings (5:30‑6:30 am).
• Maintain product quality and presentation for all bakery displays.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Train, coach and evaluate kitchen team members to maximise performance.
• Manage inventory, ordering and stock rotation of ingredients.
• Collaborate with store managers to align bakery output with customer demand.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior bakery role, preferably as a Head Baker or Bakery Manager.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
• Flexibility to work early shifts and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
