Head of Facilities Management & Compliance (Interim)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Facilities Management & Compliance to join a busy Local Authority in North West London on an interim basis. This senior position will lead both hard and soft facilities services while ensuring statutory compliance across a diverse property portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of hard and soft facilities management services across the organisation.
• Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met and maintained.
• Support implementation of a new facilities management service structure.
• Provide strategic leadership to FM and compliance teams.
• Oversee contractor performance and ensure service delivery meets agreed standards and KPIs.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practice across FM and compliance functions.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to improve service delivery and operational performance.
• Manage budgets, resources and contracts effectively.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading hard and soft facilities management services.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance within a property or corporate estate environment.
• Experience supporting organisational change and service transformation.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Previous experience working within a Local Authority (essential).
• Ability to hit the ground running in a fast‑paced environment.
