Head of Finance – £85,000‑£95,000, Fenstanton

About the role

Our client, a family‑owned specialist product distributor operating across the UK and Europe, is seeking a commercially‑minded Head of Finance. You will own the finance function, drive performance, and support ambitious growth and acquisition plans while working closely with an experienced Finance & IT Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management accounts process, delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis and clear commentary.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the Group.
• Manage year‑end accounts and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital and inventory finance in a fast‑pace distribution environment.
• Provide strategic financial insight to the leadership team and support business‑wide decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience in buy‑and‑sell, wholesale, distribution, logistics or product‑based trading businesses.
• Track record of managing inventory, margins and operational performance.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
