Head of Housing (Interim)

About the role

Lincoln Cornhill is partnering with a Lincolnshire local authority to recruit an interim Head of Housing for a three‑month period. The successful candidate will work on site three days a week, overseeing patch‑based housing services for council tenants, licensees, leaseholders and other owned properties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage proactive patch‑based housing services, including general needs, sheltered and supported housing.
• Directly line‑manage a Business Support Team Leader, Senior Housing Officer and Independent Living Co‑ordinator.
• Deliver efficient tenancy management services and ensure compliance with housing legislation and regulator requirements.
• Prepare, monitor and control budgets, including a Tenant Hardship Fund.
• Oversee rent account administration in line with the Income Management policy.
• Supervise tenancy enforcement, anti‑social behaviour cases and safeguarding matters.
• Identify and develop policy improvements and support senior managers with external frameworks.
• Provide evidence to the Regulator of Social Housing and Housing Ombudsman as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating at Head of Service level within a housing context.
• Hold or be willing to study towards a CIH Level 5 qualification.
• Strong understanding of social housing, customer and environmental issues.
• Demonstrable experience in social housing policy development or research.
• Proven ability to respond to government or regulatory policy changes.
