Head of Region, Africa & Middle East

About the role

The Head of Region for Africa and the Middle East will join Fondation CHANEL’s leadership team in London, driving the implementation of the foundation’s gender‑focused philanthropic strategy across the region. This senior position shapes regional programmes, oversees partnerships and ensures the impact of initiatives aligns with the foundation’s global mission.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Fondation CHANEL’s global mission into a clear regional strategy and annual road‑maps.
• Lead and manage a regional team to deliver programmes that advance gender equality.
• Oversee the partnership pipeline, including grant approvals, contracts and delegated authorities.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of regional initiatives, adapting approaches based on learning.
• Collaborate with central impact, finance and learning teams to strengthen evaluation, budgeting and risk management.
• Report progress against objectives to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in international philanthropy, gender equality or related non‑profit sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute regional strategies and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong track record of building and overseeing partnerships and grantmaking processes.
• Excellent analytical mindset with experience in impact measurement and learning.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and the foundation’s core values.
