Homelessness Team Manager – Lead Frontline Services

About the role

Hillingdon Council is seeking experienced Homelessness Team Managers to lead critical frontline services within its Housing Needs & Homelessness department. This senior operational role will oversee a range of specialist teams, including families, move‑on, singles, domestic abuse, and resettlement, driving performance and delivering resident‑focused outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead services across prevention, front‑door, families, single homelessness, move‑on, and specialist pathways such as domestic abuse and resettlement.
• Develop and apply specialist practice knowledge for diverse cohorts, ensuring lawful and consistent decision‑making.
• Build high‑performing teams, embed a strong performance culture, and manage caseloads, workflows, and targets.
• Oversee complex and high‑risk cases, using data and insight to drive service improvement.
• Support residents through effective interventions and partnership working to prevent and relieve homelessness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housing, homelessness or related frontline services.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Track record of managing teams and improving operational performance.
• Ability to handle complex cases, high pressure and deliver results.
