About the role
This is a varied HR generalist position within a mid‑sized asset management firm in London. The role offers exposure across the full employee lifecycle, with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, HR operations, benefits, payroll support and strategic projects.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice to managers on employee relations, performance and absence management.
- Support implementation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Manage probation reviews and performance improvement processes.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment, including agency management, advertising, interview scheduling, onboarding and induction.
- Produce HR documentation such as contracts, promotion letters and salary notifications.
- Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including pension communications and invoice processing.
- Prepare and analyse HR metrics and management information (headcount, turnover, recruitment, remuneration).
- Maintain accurate HR records, systems, organisational charts and intranet content.
- Coordinate internal and external training activities and keep training records up to date.
- Contribute to HR projects, annual remuneration processes and wider people initiatives.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a generalist HR advisory role.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) or working towards it.
- Experience in financial services is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Commercial, pragmatic and solutions‑focused approach.
Required skills
- HR information systems knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
