Human Resources Officer – Lead HR for Scotland Site

About the role
Join one of Scotland's most recognisable food businesses as the lead HR presence for a busy site of around 120 employees. You will work closely with operational managers, site leadership and the wider UK‑wide HR team, enjoying high visibility and the chance to influence people decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Support managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability cases.
- Act as the primary HR contact for the Scotland site, delivering practical and commercially‑focused HR guidance.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives such as surveys, action planning and recognition programmes.
- Manage recruitment and onboarding activities across the site.
- Support occupational health referrals, wellbeing initiatives and attendance management processes.
- Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to aid operational performance.
- Assist with compliance activities and audit requirements.
- Coach and develop managers to build confidence in handling people matters.
- Contribute to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Line‑manage and support an experienced HR Administrator.
Required profile
- Experience in a HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role, comfortable handling a broad range of people matters.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships, influence managers and provide practical solutions in a fast‑moving environment.
- Confidence managing employee relations, enjoyment of coaching managers and desire to take ownership while being part of a supportive team.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or other operational environments is advantageous, though candidates from other sectors are welcome.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or progress towards it is beneficial.

What we offer
- Salary up to £34,000 per annum.
- 7.5% discretionary bonus scheme.
