Information Communications Systems Programme Officer (Army)

About the role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking an Information Communications Systems Programme Officer to support the Army’s Firm Base. Based at Hammersley Barracks in Aldershot, you will work within Regional Command’s Information Superiority Branch, collaborating with higher headquarters and Joint Military Commands to manage budgets and deliver essential communications capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, forecast and allocate the annual Information Communications Systems (ICS) budget across Joint Military Commands.
• Approve financial spend against delegated budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Raise acquisition requests and oversee procurement activities related to communications systems.
• Maintain delegation of authority and liaise with higher formation headquarters for budget setting.
• Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Strong conceptual understanding of information systems and IT literacy.
• Numeracy and ability to work with financial data and forecasts.
• Experience in budget management within a complex organisational environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with military, civil service and contractor partners.
• Flexibility to work onsite at least three days per week (hybrid working model).
