Interim Pay & Reward Officer – HR & OD Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Pay & Reward Officer to join the HR & OD team on a temporary basis. Working under the Pay and Reward Specialist, you will help ensure pay, reward and job evaluation activities are delivered fairly and in line with Council policy.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the Council’s pay, reward and job evaluation processes.
• Undertake job evaluation assessments and prepare supporting documentation.
• Provide advice to managers and HR colleagues on pay and grading matters.
• Assist with organisational change and restructuring through job evaluation support.
• Prepare reports, papers and recommendations related to pay and reward.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
• Administer and coordinate job evaluation panels and appeals.
• Analyse pay and workforce data to identify trends and risks.
• Respond to employee and manager queries on pay, grading and reward.
• Collaborate across HR & OD to support workforce priorities and the People Resourcing Board.

Required profile

• Experience in a pay, reward, job evaluation or HR environment.
• Knowledge of job evaluation principles and pay structures.
• Experience supporting pay and grading reviews in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and meet tight deadlines.
