IT Infrastructure Technician (Newcastle)

About the role

UNW is seeking an IT Infrastructure Technician to support the IT Manager in delivering technical projects and maintaining a stable, secure IT environment. The role also provides day‑to‑day support when the primary IT Technician is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IT Manager with planning and implementing infrastructure upgrades, system integrations and security enhancements.
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, servers and storage systems, applying patches and updates to meet compliance.
• Document network topology, hardware/software end‑of‑life, and infrastructure configurations.
• Provide IT support coverage during the IT Technician’s leave.
• Support security initiatives such as Single Sign‑On (SSO) implementation and enforce best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience in infrastructure support and network administration.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
• Attention to detail for documentation and compliance tasks.
