Junior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a motivated Junior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its 3DVis Cloud team. Working in a hybrid setting from Derry/Londonderry or Cambridge, you will help ensure the quality, robustness, and security of cloud‑based 3D visualisation and XR streaming solutions that support AVEVA’s industrial software portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and senior SDETs to define and execute functional and non‑functional test coverage.
• Extend and create automated tests using C# and maintain test runs in a continuous integration environment.
• Use Azure DevOps Test Plans and Pipelines to support regression testing cycles.
• Identify gaps in test coverage, propose new test cases, and assist senior engineers with code reviews.
• Investigate production issues and contribute preventative improvements, such as strengthening test automation.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a technical role (including internships).
• Team‑oriented, strong communication, and proactive learning mindset.

Required skills

• C# programming language.
• Azure DevOps (Test Plans and Pipelines).
• Fundamental understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Basic functional testing experience; exposure to non‑functional testing is a plus.
