Kitchen Assistant x2 – Calvert's Restaurant & Coffee Shop

About the role

Saputo Dairy UK makes Wensleydale cheese and other well-known dairy brands, and is hiring two Kitchen Assistants for its visitor experience restaurant, Calvert's Restaurant & 1897 Coffee Shop, in Hawes, Yorkshire Dales. The restaurant serves visitors all year round and uses locally sourced seasonal produce. This is a hands-on role working with the kitchen team, producing quality food while keeping the kitchen clean.

Two full-time permanent positions are available:

• Position 1: 5 days over 7, alternate weekends, 8.30am to 5.15pm (March to October) and 4.15pm (November to February), salary £26,111.
• Position 2: 4 days over 7, alternate weekends, same hours, salary £20,888.

Full training is available, with the option to progress to formal qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare salads, vegetables, garnishes and sandwiches to specification.
• Prepare snacks, starters and desserts to specification and on time.
• Support the chefs with general dish preparation.
• Maintain quality standards and strict portion control throughout service.
• Monitor and log HACCP information and comply with company procedures and legislation.
• Maintain agreed stock levels, check use-by dates and rotate stock.
• Put away deliveries, observe cooking times, core temperatures and allergen procedures.
• Carry out general kitchen cleaning, wash crockery and support the team in other duties.
