Kitchen Porter

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join Six by Nico’s vibrant restaurant in Canary Wharf. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment to support the chefs and ensure smooth service.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery and kitchen equipment promptly.
• Keep the kitchen area tidy by sweeping, mopping and sanitising work surfaces and floors.
• Assist with basic food preparation and ingredient handling as directed.
• Support waste management and recycling initiatives following sustainability guidelines.
• Help with stock organisation, rotation and receipt of deliveries.
• Maintain and clean kitchen appliances, utensils and other equipment.
• Follow health, safety and food‑safety procedures, including proper chemical handling.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and flexible approach to hours.
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently and under direction.
• Good organisational skills and capacity to multitask.
• Can‑do attitude and willingness to support the team during busy periods.

Required skills

• Dishwashing and sanitisation techniques.
• Basic kitchen cleaning and hygiene practices.
• Understanding of health and safety standards in a food‑service environment.
