About the role
Join the vibrant Slug & Lettuce team in Durham as a Kitchen Team Member. You will support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality dishes while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking according to specifications.
- Maintain consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
- Keep the kitchen clean, hygienic, and well‑organized at all times.
- Oversee deliveries, receive stock, and assist with inventory checks.
- Suggest improvements to kitchen processes and work collaboratively to meet targets.
Required profile
- Passion for hospitality and a keen eye for detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills daily.
- Ability to support the Head Chef with orders, stock taking and food‑hygiene compliance.
- Experience or aptitude for maintaining kitchen equipment.
