Landing Gear Technical Engineering Internship

About the role

Join Airbus Landing Gear Engineering as a Technical Engineering Intern and work on the design, integration and support of landing gear systems for commercial aircraft. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, suppliers and production teams across the Airbus aircraft family.

Key responsibilities

• Consult experts during validation and verification of system designs, using models, simulations and test rigs.
• Develop relationships with in‑service and production teams to analyse stress on components and provide feedback to the final assembly line.
• Contribute to problem‑solving activities, report findings and present progress to stakeholders across functions and sites.

Required profile

• Undergraduate student in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems/Mechatronics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Data Science.
• Inquisitive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to take ownership of projects.
• Commitment to work the full 12.5‑month placement and submit a CV with a cover letter.

Required skills

• Computer‑aided design tools such as CATIA.
• Modelling tools: ADAMS, Matlab Simulink, Fluent.
• Programming languages: Python, R, C/C++, Java, Javascript.

What we offer

• Salary of £24,246 per year.
• 35‑hour work week with flexible and hybrid working options.
• Half‑day Fridays and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
