Legal Cashier – Financial Transactions Specialist

About the role

The Legal Cashier will manage daily financial transactions for a small business‑services firm, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. Based in Littlehampton, this permanent role offers the chance to lead a key function within a specialised legal finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile client accounts, maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare and review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor cash flow, produce projections and support financial planning.
• Ensure adherence to SRA Accounts Rules and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures.
• Lead and mentor junior team members within the legal cashiering function.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal finance practices.
• Experience managing financial transactions within the legal sector.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with stakeholders.
• Professional accounting qualification or related field (preferred).
