Management Accountant (12 Month FTC)

About the role

An established law firm is seeking a Management Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave. The role offers hybrid working and study support, making it ideal for a part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA professional looking to deepen experience in a professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
• Produce KPI reports and monthly management information packs.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting, including ONS submissions.
• Post payroll journals and liaise with internal stakeholders.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting processes.
• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis and Excel‑based reporting.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA and actively studying.
• Previous experience in a management accounting or finance role.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building across the business.
• Experience within a law firm or professional services environment (essential).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including handling large data sets.
