Management Accountant – Part‑time (Charity)

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established charity with UK and international operations in the recruitment of a Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will provide accurate financial information and strategic insight to help the organisation achieve its mission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for the charity group.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning across the group.
• Produce detailed financial analysis, variance reports and board packs for senior management and trustees.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and manage the annual audit.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, including inter‑company and restricted funds.
• Oversee VAT returns, payroll reporting and other statutory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC, Companies House and related regulations.
• Supervise a small finance team of two.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant experience in the charity or not‑for‑profit sector.
• Proven ability to prepare management accounts, statutory accounts and consolidated group reports.
• Strong knowledge of SORP and charity accounting regulations.
• Previous staff management or supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Advanced working knowledge of Xero accounting software.
