Manufacturing Engineer (Stonehouse)

About the role

RE Recruitment, in partnership with PHINIA, is seeking Manufacturing Engineers for its Stonehouse site in Gloucestershire. The role starts immediately and supports PHINIA’s global production of premium fuel and electrical systems for ICE vehicles and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Set, check and calibrate all gauging equipment within the allocated cell.
• Manage start‑up, resetting, running and shut‑down of machines, fixtures and tooling, including ordering of parts.
• Proactively fault‑find and resolve safety, quality or output issues.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as coolant and filtration checks.
• Maintain equipment to maximise performance and achieve OE targets.
• Train operators, oversee sign‑off against training plans and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and process control.
• Communicate customer, statutory and regulatory requirements and escalate quality concerns as needed.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification (Level 2 also considered).
• Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Motivated team player with a commitment to total quality.
• Strong communication skills across all business levels.
• Self‑motivated, calm under pressure and detail‑oriented.
