Mental Health Social Worker – Support & Advocacy

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Social Worker to join our inclusive team in Guildford. You will provide holistic support to individuals facing mental health challenges, champion their rights, and help build a healthier community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess clients' mental health needs and develop personalised care plans.
• Deliver counselling, crisis intervention and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, families and community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
• Advocate for client rights and access to services, promoting social justice.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation.
• Facilitate support groups and educational workshops to raise mental health awareness.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to service improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Social Work or a related field with appropriate professional accreditation.
• Experience in mental health settings is preferred.
• Strong understanding of mental health issues, social determinants of health and trauma‑informed care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy abilities.
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and ongoing professional development.
