Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a progressive manufacturing business in Skelmersdale on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential to become permanent. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £26.55 and a varied shift pattern across four weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mechanical and electrical maintenance support aligned with production requirements.
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery.
• Diagnose faults and repair electrical and mechanical equipment promptly.
• Maintain site services and facilities to minimise downtime.
• Follow isolation and lock‑out procedures and adhere to all health‑and‑safety legislation.
• Keep maintenance areas clean, organised and safe.

Required profile

• A time‑served multi‑skilled engineering apprenticeship.
• A recognised electrical qualification.
• An HNC (or equivalent) in a manufacturing or engineering discipline.
• Strong fault‑finding abilities across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
