Neonatal Nurse (Band 6) – Scotland

About the role
The NHS Dumfries and Galloway Neonatal Unit is seeking enthusiastic Band 6 Neonatal Nurses to join a collaborative, family‑focused team. You will work in a high‑acuity environment delivering safe, compassionate care for newborns and their families.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care to neonates in an intensive care setting.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary team members to maintain high standards of practice.
- Promote family‑integrated care, ensuring parents are central to the care process.
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work flexibly across permanent and fixed‑term contracts, with full‑time or part‑time options.
Required profile
- Current first‑level NMC registration.
- Recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Completion of the Neonatal Nurse Quality in Specialty (QIS) qualification.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Resilience when handling complex family situations.
