Optical Assistant – Full‑time, Sunderland

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Optical Assistant to join our Sunderland store. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them with frame selection, lens options and general eye‑care queries while supporting our opticians and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers entering the store.
• Provide product information and help customers choose frames and lenses.
• Support opticians and technicians with routine tasks and appointments.
• Maintain a clean and organised retail environment.
• Participate in training programmes and develop skills in optical and audiology services.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, caring individual with a passion for eye‑care.
• Previous experience in an optical or fast‑paced customer‑service setting.
• Ability to work confidently with customers and team members.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the business.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of optical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of audiology terminology.

• Full‑time permanent role – 40 hours per week, including one weekend day.
