Part‑time HR Consultant – Flexible Hybrid Role

About the role

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a well‑established HR consultancy to hire a solution‑focused HR Consultant. The role is part‑time (up to 30 hours per week), hybrid (1‑2 days in the office) and involves supporting multiple client organisations with day‑to‑day HR needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical HR advice to managers and business owners across a portfolio of clients.
• Handle employee‑relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and redundancy cases.
• Draft and review high‑quality HR documentation such as contracts, policies, letters and guidance.
• Prepare and coach managers for difficult conversations and ensure documentation is commercially sound.
• Support HR audits, check‑ups and client projects, improving existing HR documents.
• Attend client meetings remotely and in person, managing ad‑hoc queries and a shared advisory inbox.

Required profile

• Strong HR experience within a consultancy or outsourced HR environment.
• CIPD qualified (Level 5).
• In‑depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with proven experience managing employee‑relations cases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Highly organised, able to manage a varied workload across multiple clients.
• Willingness to travel to local clients and hold a full UK driving licence with own vehicle.
