People Advisor – HR Support for Retail & Wholesale

About the role

We are looking for a People Advisor to provide hands‑on HR support for our Retail and Wholesale teams during a 13‑month maternity cover. You will act as a first‑line point of contact for colleagues, helping to create a positive work experience across a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line HR support, answering queries and advising managers on day‑to‑day matters and employee‑relations cases.
• Coach managers to build capability in HR processes and policies.
• Maintain accurate colleague records and continuously improve HR procedures.
• Administer the full employee lifecycle, including documentation, GDPR compliance, and policy updates.
• Lead recruitment activities from job advertising through onboarding and probation.
• Manage joiner and leaver processes to ensure smooth transitions.
• Support performance reviews, engagement surveys, development initiatives, and wellbeing/DEI projects.

• Commercially aware and comfortable in a fast‑paced retail setting.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Confident communicator who can give clear, pragmatic advice.
