About the role
We are seeking a motivated Power Tool Operative to join our client’s workshop team in Wigan. This hands‑on position involves repairing, refurbishing and maintaining a range of products using both power and hand tools. No prior experience with power tools is required, but a practical attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out repairs, refurbishment and routine maintenance of products using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose basic faults and identify parts that need replacement.
- Follow work instructions and quality standards to ensure accurate repairs.
- Inspect items before and after work to confirm they meet company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks.
- Work efficiently to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Keep the work area clean, organised and safe at all times.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures and company policies.
Required profile
- Good understanding of hand and power tools.
- Experience in a hands‑on, assembly, production, manufacturing, workshop or maintenance environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a practical approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts (6:00 am‑2:00 pm or 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm).
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
