Principal Platform Infrastructure Engineer (SRE Enablement)

About the role

Menlo Security’s Platform Infrastructure Engineering team builds and operates the company’s global cloud‑native infrastructure. As a Principal Platform Infrastructure Engineer you will design, deploy and run high‑scale multi‑region VM and Kubernetes environments on GCP and AWS, ensuring security, resilience and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and govern the design, deployment and operation of multi‑region VM and Kubernetes infrastructure on GCP and AWS.
• Drive technical alignment with Engineering, Product, Compliance and Security on capacity planning, disaster recovery and cloud‑native application design.
• Define and enforce IaC best practices using Terraform and Spacelift, maintaining consistent and secure cloud resources.
• Implement observability solutions (Grafana Cloud, Prometheus/Mimir, OpenTelemetry) and set organization‑wide metrics and alerting standards.
• Lead strategic automation projects, build advanced CI/CD pipelines and mentor junior and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience with large‑scale cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes administration and Terraform provisioning.
• Experience mentoring engineers and participating in 24x7 on‑call rotations.

• Python, Bash, Go scripting.
• Kubernetes (cluster admin, RBAC, networking, workload management).
• Terraform and Spacelift for IaC.
• Google Cloud Platform services (GKE, VPC, Cloud DNS, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, IAM, Workload Identity).
• AWS infrastructure services.
• Helm, GitOps workflows.
• Observability tools: Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Mimir, OpenTelemetry collectors.
• Service mesh networking (Cilium) and certificate/DNS automation.
• LLM code‑assist tools for software development.
