Principal Stress Engineer

About the role

Expleo is seeking a Principal Stress Engineer to lead a team of up to 15 engineers in the military air domain. The role focuses on stress and technical analysis of advanced composite and metallic structures for a major aerospace OEM.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to deliver stress analysis work packages and associated documentation.
• Manage project schedules, cost estimates and resource allocation.
• Make technical decisions on design architecture, material performance and structural integrity.
• Perform detailed stress analyses including strength, stiffness, buckling, joint assessments, composite panel evaluations and damage tolerance.
• Conduct finite element analysis using tools such as Nastran/Patran, Simcenter 3D and Hyperworks.
• Generate stress documentation, reserve factor summaries, justifications and certification reports.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and support test planning and alternative compliance strategies.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and maintain signatory authority for stress reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in composite and metallic structural analysis and design.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical project delivery.
• Previous signatory authority for stress reports and drawings.
• Knowledge of military fast‑jet programs.
