Process Operator – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operator to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for operating the plant to produce bulk pharmaceuticals, intermediates, and other chemical products in line with cGMP and health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out chemical reactions according to batch sheets and process instructions.
• Monitor key reaction criteria and report any anomalies to a Supervisor or Shift Manager.
• Operate mechanical and electro‑mechanical material‑handling equipment, weigh and dispense materials, and record all quantities.
• Perform cleaning of vessels, drums, tanks and other containers following cGMP procedures.
• Maintain accurate process records, handle waste streams, and conduct in‑process sampling and testing.
• Support the introduction of new products and process development, and assist with training of operating staff.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Process Technology (desirable).
• Experience in a fine‑chemical or related processing environment (desirable) and preferably within a cGMP setting.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow written procedures.
• Team player who can also work independently and prioritize workload.

Required skills

• Batch processing and in‑process sampling.
• Accurate record‑keeping and documentation.
