Product Designer
Arondite · London
Job description
About the role
Arondite, a defence technology company, is hiring a Product Designer in London. As the third design member, you will shape the visual direction, design culture and product vision of its flagship product, Cobalt, an operating system for connected defence that coordinates humans and autonomous devices. The work sits in new, unexplored problem spaces and has relevance to mission-critical environments.
Key responsibilities
- Ship design work that raises the bar for visual design and craft.
- Design tailored interfaces with the right level of technical clarity for different user personas and stakeholders.
- Curate the product's architecture and overall user experience as Cobalt grows.
- Empathise with users and define and communicate new ways of working when needed.
- Develop an AI-native design process, from in-person workshops to prototyping with tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
Required profile
- No strict years-of-experience requirement: candidates who have shipped world-class interfaces, whether in big tech or through a side project, are sought.
- Experience conducting user interviews.
- Experience handling and contributing to a design system.
- Experience designing enterprise-grade software for desktop and mobile.
- Comfortable using AI to go beyond a Figma handoff and willing to tweak the final 10% of the frontend.
- Collaborative, empathetic and able to work in fast-moving environments.
Required skills
- UI prototyping tools such as Figma and/or Adobe XD.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript (ideally).
- Ability to create or modify designs in frontend frameworks such as React (ideally).
- Nice to have: geospatial applications, robotic control interfaces, and React.
What we offer
- Highly competitive base salary and generous equity via EMI options.
- 7% employer pension contribution, free daily office meals, private health and dental insurance, cycle-to-work scheme and relocation support.
- Visa sponsorship for very strong candidates.
- Office-first, hybrid working (usually at least 3 days a week in the Farringdon office).
The process starts with an application and portfolio, followed by a 30-minute phone screen, a portfolio review and problem-solving exercise, and a final 30-minute interview with a Founder.
