Product Specialist – Junior to Senior Levels

About the role

We are looking for a Product Specialist to join our fast‑growing retail business in Greater Manchester. The role is suitable for candidates ranging from junior product developers to experienced product managers who are passionate about creating products that customers love.

Key responsibilities

• Own one or more product categories from concept through sourcing, launch and ongoing performance.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to develop and negotiate product specifications, pricing and margins.
• Analyse sales and performance data to make commercial decisions and optimise the product range.
• Collaborate with internal teams – buying, marketing, merchandising – to ensure successful product launches.
• Maintain strong relationships with external partners and manage supplier performance.

Required profile

• Experience in product development, product management or own‑label buying within hardlines (homewares, gifting, toys, lifestyle).
• Proven ability to manage products from concept to launch.
• Commercial awareness with exposure to pricing, margins and supplier negotiations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent organisational ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Ability to interpret sales and performance data.
