Production Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Production Engineer to support manufacturing operations at our Honiton site. The role combines maintenance, project work, process improvement and new equipment implementation in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and support risk assessment activities.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve machine‑related issues.
• Support production teams to maximise equipment performance, workflow and operational efficiency.
• Lead engineering improvement projects and support the introduction of new products and processes.
• Maintain technical and quality standards for equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Create and update manufacturing instructions, procedures and documentation.
• Manage critical spare‑parts and equipment inventories.
• Develop and coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Support machinery installation, commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and equipment upgrades.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or similar role.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a practical, hands‑on approach.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage projects, prioritise workloads and collaborate across departments.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability principles.
